The USA Triathlon Mid-Atlantic Board of Directors was first formed in 1993 so that USA Triathlon could better serve its members on a more regional grass roots level.  The Board is comprised on one representative from each state in the region and the District of Columbia and three at-large representatives, bringing the total to eleven.  Each member serves for two years, with either five or six positions coming up for election by the USA Triathlon Mid-Atlantic members every year.      The Board meets regularly throughout the year and has a number of committees that address the special concerns of USAT/MA members.  The Board is responsible for choosing the USAT/MA Regional Championship events.  It also directs a number of regional programs, and provides feedback to USAT reflecting the voice of USAT/MA members.        Board members represent USAT/MA member's concerns with the USA Triathlon Board of Directors and the USA Triathlon staff in Colorado Springs either through participation on other committees or through direct communication.  The Board provides active counsel in the areas of age-group competition, the junior program, club competition, the Women's Commission, and other topics that arise during the course of the season.       In order to fully serve its members, the Board is continually seeking information and feedback from its Mid-Atlantic USA Triathlon members.  If any member has a problem or a concern that needs to be voiced, please bring it to the attention of the Board by using the e-mail links provided on this page.
